Rev. Charles Tedrick, Pastor
Chuck Tedrick is delighted and honored to serve as the pastor of Calvary United Reformed Church. He came to Calvary URC in September, 2010 after earning a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Seminary California. Chuck earned his undergraduate degree (B.S. in Marketing), from Biola University in 1989. He spent nearly 20 years in the automotive industry, mostly in marketing and training. During the last years of his career, Chuck was an Event Manager with Audi where he planned consumer events such as Golf Tournaments, Driving Events, Jazz Festivals and other events. Though Chuck enjoyed this career path during those years, he had an increasing desire to learn more about the Doctrines of Grace which then led to a desire to teach others about the beauty and wonder of the Gospel.
Chuck grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) where he attended a Baptist Church as a child. He came to saving faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized. As a young adult, Chuck was introduced to the Doctrines of Grace, the richness of Reformed Theology, and the Presbyterian/Reformed Confessions through several friends at college. He then pursued studying the Reformed faith while attending an Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Michigan.
Chuck remembers being overwhelmed when the Lord caused him to understand and believe that Jesus Christ not only died to forgive the sins of His people, through which the wrath of God was removed from the sinner, but that Jesus Christ also lived a life a perfect obedience for His people. Jesus’s righteousness is credited/imputed/given to the believer as a gift allowing one to stand before God in peace because of Christ alone. Amazing Grace indeed!!
In addition to his church, Chuck was influenced during these years by Ligonier Ministry, White Horse Inn, Modern Reformation, and reading authors such as John Calvin, J. I. Packer, W. Robert Godfrey, Michael Horton, and James Boice (to name only a few).
Chuck married a wonderful woman, also from Michigan, Michele (Kolasinski). They were married on June 17, 2001. Chuck and Michele are those ‘crazy cat people’ who enjoy loving and talking about their pets. Chuck also likes to scuba dive, snorkel, fly-fish, ski, hike, read, watch and discuss films. More importantly, he loves to eat Michele’s cooking (she is an amazing cook/food blogger)!
Chuck enjoys being a part of the church family — loving, serving, and caring for one another. He is available to answer any questions you may have — to dialogue together — and to help serve you in any way that he is able. Please feel free to contact him at the church.
